What are "adoptables"?
Adoptables are creature- or character designs that an artist makes, and then sell the rights to. The name comes from the idea that you're adopting a virtual pet, but the adoptable community is huge, and the word now covers all sorts of characters and designs that people trade the rights to. It's kind of like buying the rights to a mascot, and also kind of like buying an action figure - some people like to play with them and make up stories, or draw their characters, and give them relationships to each other. Other people just like to collect the designs that look pretty. Like a digital sticker collection!
Adoptables are not related to non-fungible tokens or cryptocurrency. There is no blockchain and there are no serial numbers. These are toys, not currency.

Adoptables from base
These are made by colouring in pre-existing lineart (also called a 'base'). They're quicker to make and thus cheaper, but also not as unique. I make all of my lineart myself, so nobody else has access to it.
